exist. Proxy servers work towards maintaining anonymity with regard to
information flow. If servers are being designed to counter traffic
analysis why is it that such a practice still exists? Even encrypted
messages can be examined using traffic analysis. It is a helpful tool
for military intelligence. Some of the methods used to enhance traffic
flow security are using codress messages (changing the source and
destination addresses), changing the radio callsigns, sending dummy
traffic, and sending encrypted signals.

Some of the methods devised to counter traffic analysis are:
1 Link Encryption
2 End-to end Encryption

Link
Encryption means that every vulnerable communication link is encrypted
on both ends of the link. Hence communication is made secure. But the
message must be decrypted at the packet switches which make the message
vulnerable at those points. Thus multiple keys need to be distributed
at the nodes, one key to two nodes.

End-to-end Encryption is
carried out in two-way systems. The sender and the receiver share a key
to encrypt and decrypt a message. Network switches and links are
secured in this manner. But only the data is encrypted in this method.
The header is left in the clear. Most of the traffic is examined using

Anonymous remailers are an upgraded version of proxy servers. They
too are server computers that receive embedded instructions as to where

source or the destination of the message. Some of the popular anonymous
remailers are Mixmaster anonymous remailers, Cypherhunk anonymous
remailers, nym servers, etc… They essentially serve the purpose of
communicating through e-mails with total anonymity. There is a strong
encryption and a chain remailer system that protects each message. They
change the IP addresses of the source and the destination hence
producing “fake addresses”.

There are four types of remailers:
1
Cypherhunk remailers – They are also known as Type I remailers. A
message is sent by stripping away the source address. Such messages
cannot be replied to in a direct manner. A message is encrypted and
sent which is then decrypted. Such remailers do not keep a translation
log.
2 Mixmaster remailers – They are also known as Type II
remailers. They need to be downloaded and installed so that messages
are written through a program.
3 Mixminion remailers – They are also
known as Type III remailers. It is being designed to work on the
drawbacks of the Cypherhunk and Mixmaster remailers. It addresses such
concerns as replying to encrypted emails, forwarding messages with
anonymity, dummy traffic, prevention of replay, integrated directory

4 Pseudonymous remailers – in this too as in
Cypherhunk remailers, the source address is removed which is the given
a pseudonym after which the message is sent. The difference is that
these messages can be replied to.

The factors that must be
considered when selecting a remailer are class (encrypted message
versus cleartext content, one way versus two way), location that is
decided via geographical mapping, history of the server, security
features that are offered by the server, identity of the operator,

Abuse
of remailers has not been clearly defined but anything that harms the
server is known to be abuse. Since the address of the sender ID not

You can use FreeCap to change your IP. You have to be aware that classical solutions (web proxies, most of hide ip software ) will not work, because PlayChess is not a browser game. It requires the installation of a client software that connects directly to a server.

One of the most popular tools that can be used for hiding the IP address is FreeCap. One of the major features of this application is that it can work with HTTP proxies (with or without authorization) and socks proxies. It works with socks 4 proxies and with socks 5 proxies including the ones that require authorization.

One other major feature is that it works will all major browsers and
other applications that connect to the Internet. In this way you can hide your IP address for a larger range of applications (like some of the online games). We will have a topic about this soon on our blog.

This application is FREE – which is great. The only thing that you have to take care about is finding good quality / working proxy servers. This blog is one place where you will be able to do that.

Using the product is very simple. You have to download it from this address: http://www.freecap.ru/eng/?p=download (we have tested the version 3.18) and install it.

When the application initially starts – the only application that was recognized was Internet Explorer but we have decided to test it with Firefox as well. That is why you have to manually add it. Right click in the mail window and select New Application.

Browse for Firefox main executable file.

Select it and press Open.

Now Firefox can be used for hiding the IP address.

But first you have to configure the proxy server that will be used
for hiding the IP address. In this case we have selected this
62.231.143.238:80 HTTP Proxy, the first in the Fresh Proxy list fount on this blog.

In order to set the proxy server that will be used you have to go the File menu, Settings and fill the proxy data in the Default proxy section, Proxy Settings.

Press Apply and the settings are completed.

Double click on Firefox in the main window and the browser will start

You will notice that the window title is changed – meaning that the IP address is hidden by FreeCap.

Thinks that we like about this product:

1. It is a free product

2. It can work with different kind of proxies: http and socks and with different authentication methods

3. There are many applications that can work along with it in order to hide the IP address – like games.

Things that we do not like:

1. You have to manually enter the proxies that will be used. This means effort for the users.

2. After you add a proxy – you can press OK or Apply but there is not a test function. So you have to add a proxy that is working in order to see the application working.

So overall this is a good product than we enjoy using (other post related to FreeCap
will be posted on the blog) but filling the proxy list manually is
something that we do not like. It is also true that only commercial
applications provide access to proxy lists that can be used. We did not
find yet a free product who gives access to a working proxy list.

have to worry about having your IP banned from any site. It’s also the best way for ensuring your privacy and security on the internet.

IP Hider New Release

IP Hider
is one of the simplest hide ip solutions that I ever used. After the
installation, you just have to choose a proxy. Then the proxy is tested
and if it is working you can press “Enable Online Anonymity” button and … your IP address is changed.

The problem with IP Hider and products alike is that they are dependent on proxies.
If the proxies are slow or not available, the product will not work,
meaning that will not change your IP or it will slow your internet
connection so bad that it will be unusable.

The good news is that AllAnonymity.com has just released a new version of their product IP Hider, much better than the previous one. I have just tried it and it works great. They have listed about 20 very fast proxies.
I suppose that these proxies are their own proxies as I could not find
them in any free/open proxy list. This is a very good thing as it
guaranties a certain speed and availability.

The best proxies listed are from United States, United Kingdom and Germany. To sum up, IP Hider is an ideal tool to post on forums with US IP address, to unban MySpace, YouTube, etc, to watch BBC live streams, etc.

The longer answer is that changing your IP address to a US IP is not
the only issue. A significant problem is the speed. Most of the IP
solutions are using free proxies, that are highly used by a lot of
people and that offer low to very low browsing speed. These solutions
are fine for posting on a forum or to access restricted sites, but are
not suitable for watching online vidoes.

Private proxies is the answer to this problem.
These are paid proxies (not very expensive) that are password protected
and offer high speed browsing. I can suggest 2 such services but there
are many more you can find by searching on Google:

After you purchase such a service you get
a proxy IP and port, a username and a password. Then, you will have to

KNOW HOW INTERESTING IS YOUR IP ADDRESS

IPSpotting.com shows a lot of funny “information” about your IP address. You can see if your IP contains prime or odd numbers, how your IP looks as a bitmap (see below) and if it resemble with anything, it shows your IP as poker hand, as a color, as a UNIX date, a point on a map, etc. Finally, you get a score.

The most interesting IP checked there is 151.199.53.145. It contains 3 prime numbers, it looks like a man skiing, all numbers are odd, it is a good poker hand :), produces a valid barcode, etc. Nice…

I got only 19, so my IP is not very interesting. How much did you get? Is your IP interesting?

HOW TO TRACK THE LOCATION OF AN IP ADDRESS AND OTHER DETAILS

Sometimes you may need to find out the exact location of an IP
address. For example, if you pick up a proxy from a proxy list (like SamAir.ru), you get only the country where the proxy is located. To find out the exact location of the IP you should perform a location lookup. There are many sites/services that can do this. My favorites are GeoBytes IP Locator and IP2Location.

GeoBytes shows
a Google map of city, along with a bunch of other information (country,
city, latitude, longitude, distance to nearby cities, etc.) about the
location itself.

IP2Location also offers the name of the ISP (Internet Service Provider).

If you want more information on an IP address, you can do a WHOIS search also. ARIN WHOIS Database gives you information on who hosts a certain IP address and their registration information.

Where do I found proxies?

There are several places where you can find proxies. Just go on
Google and search for “proxy list” and you’ll get plenty of results.
One of the best source for proxies is SamAir. What I don’t link is that it is not easy to find proxies from a certain country.

Today, I have found another proxy source and I liked the way proxies are grouped. Take a look to the AtomInterSoft list. You can easily choose a country, then see the available proxies from that country. Nice!

If you need to use a proxy server, then you will want to know a little bit about how to choose the right one for your needs. There is more then one option when choosing which proxy to use,
which is why it’s important to know the different types of proxies
offered. I have done some research for you so that you can decide which
one is best for you, here is a list of the different options you can
use.

High Anonymous

With this type of proxy your IP will of coarse be hidden. Admin from
other websites will also not be able to tell that you’re running
through a proxy. This is a good route if you don’t want to give up your
IP address to sites, but also want to keep your account with them. It
will look like a real browser too.

Anonymous

This option also hides your IP address from everyone, but this one
changes the request fields so it’s very easy to detect. They still
won’t be able to get your IP address from it or anything but they may
decide to ban you from the site because a lot of them don’t like that.
It’s a risk using this type of proxy if you don’t want to run the risk
of losing accounts.

Transparent

These proxies change the request field also so it’s easy to be
detected and banned. This type of proxy transfers your IP though, so
it’s terrible option for security and privacy. It will only be useful
for speeding up your network connection, and that’s about it.

If you’re looking for the safest route when choosing your proxy, then I would suggest going with a high anonymous type. They offer great privacy and security while surfing sites, and there is no way too give up your IP.

The website is a must view for anyone currently using proxies to
access certain websites. You can find anything to do with proxies on
the website and there are always updated proxies for you to use at your

CONFIGURE SAFARI WEB BROWSER TO HIDE YOUR IP ADDRESS MANUALLY

First, you should check your real IP address. On IPLocate.info you can see how web sites see your IP address and other info about your browser and computer like Operating System, Platform, Browser Name, etc.

The next step is to find a proxy (i.e. find a new ip address for your computer). You can go to Proxy 4 Free site (also check our list of proxy sites) and choose a proxy from any country you like. Make sure you choose a high anonymity proxy.

After you have chosen the proxy you can start configuring your Safari 3.x.

Here are the steps you should follow:

Open Safari 3.x
Go to Edit -> Preferences:
Choose Advanced tab and press Proxies : Change Settings button:
In the Internet Options window press LAN Settings button:
In the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings window, check Use a proxy server for your LAN:
In the same window fill in the Address and the Port of the proxy taken from Proxy 4 Free list(e.g. 212.4.14.145: 80 where the IP address of the proxy is 212.4.14.145 and the port is 80):
Press Ok and then Ok again and you are done.

Your Safari configuration is completed. In order to check it, go to IPLocate.info and see your new IP address.

Important! If the page does not load probably the proxy is too slow or is not available any more. Try another one!

After you are done with your anonymous browsing activites, do not forget to uncheck Use a proxy server for your LAN. Use these settings only when you need to browse under hidden ip address!

MANUALLY CHANGE YOUR IP USING INTERNET EXPLORER BROWSER

First go to IPLocate.info and check your real IP address. You will see how web sites see your IP address and how do they determine your location.

Then you have to find a proxy (an new IP address to be shown when you visit web sites). In order to do this go for example to SamAir List (also check our list of proxy sites ) and choose a proxy from any country you want:

After you have chosen the proxy you can start configuring your Internet Explorer 7.x.

Here are the steps:

Open Internet Explorer 7.x
Go to Tools -> Internet Options:
Choose Connections tab and press LAN Settings button:
In the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings window, check Use a proxy server for your LAN:
In the same window fill in the Address and the Port taken from the above proxy list (e.g. 212.4.14.145: 80 where the IP address of the proxy is 212.4.14.145 and the port is 80):

Then you find a proxy (an new IP address to be shown when you visit web sites). For example take one from here

After you have chosen the proxy you can start configuring your Firefox 2.x.

Here are the steps:

Open Firefox 2.x
Go to Tools -> Options…
Choose Network tab and press Settings button
In the Connection Settings window, check Manual proxy configuration:
In the same window fill in the HTTP Proxy and the Port taken from the above proxy list (e.g. 216.114.194.19: 6588 where the IP address of the proxy is 216.114.194.19 and the port is 6588) (take a look to the previous picture).
Press Ok and then Ok again and you are done.

After the configuration is completed go to IPLocate.info and check your new IP address. You can now browse anonymously using Firefox 2.x.

Important! After you are done with your activites under hidden ip, do not forget to change your Connection Settings from Manual proxy configuration to Direct connection to the internet.

If you’re into using proxies then you know that your computer and

LATEST FRESH PROXY LIST DOWNLOAD FOR SWITCHPROXY FIREFOX ADD-ON

In a previous post , I have explained how to install and use SwitchProxy add-on to hide your IP. SwitchProxy allows you to easly switch between several proxy configurations. You can use this feature to browse anonymously. If you don’t have SwitchProxy installed you should first check the above mentioned post .

In order to hide your IP you need first to find some good anonymous proxies. There are a lot of sites, like samair.ru or proxy4free.com, that list tens of fresh proxies every day. Unfortunately, SwitchProxy is not able to import proxies directly from these sites, so you have to add them manually. Not very confortable!

Recently, I found a proxy list that can be used with SwitchProxy. A guy from a forum wrote a script which parses the Xroxy anonymous proxy list and returns them in format that can be imported by SwitchProxy add-on. The URL to this list is: http://www.shroomery.org/ythan/proxylist.php

Here is how to get this list imported by SwitchProxy:

1. Open Firefox. Go to Tools -> SwitchProxy -> Preferences
2. Press Manage Proxies
3. Press Add (add a new proxy configuration)
4. Choose Anonymous and click Next
5. Import the proxies from the provided URL (http://www.shroomery.org/ythan/proxylist.php). Here is how:

7. When you want to browse anonymously you just have to go to Tools -> SwitchProxy and select the desired configuration (Xroxy in my case)

SwitchProxy tool lets you supervise and switch
between several proxy configurations promptly and without any
difficulty. You can also use it as an anonymizer to protect your
Personal computer from snooping eyes.

When we work with more than one proxy on a normal basis, we all
perhaps know how irritating it is to keep track of each of them, not to
talk about the amount of clicks it takes us to switch between them. SwitchProxy is a Mozilla add-on which we use to systematize and organize all proxies which we want to work with. With SwitchProxy
you can insert, edit and delete proxies which you work with from a
distinct master list. When you want to use one proxy, you just pick it
from the master list and click apply.

SwitchProxy has an anonymous feature or one may say a secret
feature, an anonymizer uses a file of proxies that it at random
switches between at definite intervals. Many people use anonymizers to
guard their IP addresses and protect themselves from hackers, online
tracking and other website prying techniques.

Here is exactly how to use this add-on to hide your IP:

Step 1. Download and install SwitchProxy

Step 2. Press Add button

Step 3. Choose Anonymous from proxy configuration type dialog and press Next

Step 4. In the next window you can add proxies, either manually (one by one) or by loading from a proxy list (check our recommended proxy lists ). Also choose a name for your proxy configuration, for example MyProxy, and then press Save.

Step 5. From the toolbar, choose MyProxy from the dropdown list and then press Apply.

Step 6. Check your IP to WhatIsMyIPAddress.com or IPLocate.info and you are done.

Step 7. In order to add more proxies to your proxy configuration press Edit. In order to create a new proxy collection / configuration press Add.

Step 8. To restore your original proxy configuration select None from the Proxy dreopdown and press Apply.

These proxies are up all over the internet,

BROWSE WITH GERMANY IP ADDRESS

IP Privacy. I use it mainly to change my IP to an United States address. The product lists some very fast US proxies.

Today, I saw that the proxy list also contains some servers/proxies from Germany, so you can use IP Privacy also if you need to change your IP to german one.

Here is what you have to do:

1. Download IP Privacy from Privacy-Pro.com site or directly from here and install it (Install…Next…Next…Finish)

2. Select a server from Germany (Germany Premium) in the same way you would select a US Proxy

3. Then press Enable Online Anonymity button. That will change your IP to an IP from Germany.

Important! If you are using Firefox you need to go first to Settings, press Browser Configuration, check Firefox and press Apply. Then go back to the main window (Status) and press Enable Online Anonymity button.

When you don’t longer need a german IP, just press Disable Online Anonymity button.

hosted on a server in the United States and you are done. These
proxies are usually used to unblock sites like MySpave, YouTube,
Facebook, etc, but you can access any site you want. You just have to
type in the URL and press Go or Submit button.

If you are using Firefox there are several add-ons that help you
changing your IP. You may need you search for proxies by yourself but
it is, for sure, faster than manually configuring your browser.

NEW 7 WAYS TO CHANGE YOUR IP ADDRESS

If you got banned on a forum or you just need to change your IP
address, here are some options available (depending on your
configuration).

Important! If you have a static IP address these options do not apply. You should call your ISP and ask them to change your IP address.

1) If have dialup connection, try using a different access number. That will most probably change your IP address.

4) If you are using a router with your Cable/DSL connection,
login to the control panel of your router and change your MAC address
by decreasing or increasing the last digit by 1. After you did that you
should disconnect and reconnect using the control panel interface of
the router. You will probably get a new IP address.

5) If none of the above suggested solutions worked, go to Start menu, type in cmd and hit Enter. Then type ipconfig /release and hit Enter. If
you are using a router, login to the router control panel and release
the IP. Then, turn off your router, modem for severals hours (for
example, overnight)

6) If nothing has worked, call or email your ISP
and tell them you experience some problems :) with your current IP
address and you need a new one. They will be able to change your IP
address or guide you how to do it.

7) If you need to change your IP frequently (e.g. every 10 minutes, or every hour) you should try hide IP softwares like Invisible Browsing, IP Hider, etc. Check the list of such software that we recommend.

The bad news is that most of these proxies won’t help because they are used by a lot of people and they are quite slow.

A better solution would be to get your own private proxy or get a VPN connection to server located in UK. Intl-Alliance.com offers such services. They are somehow expensive, but it is for you to decide if it worth or not.

As you said, you have tried ”Ninja Surfing”. Maybe you should try other products as well.Some of them, like Invisible browsing(in Advanced Mode), IP Hider, etc. allow you choose your location, and filter the available proxies by country.

BANNED EVEN AFTER CHANGING IP?

This is a common question. If you are using a DSL service, every time you turn on your computer youy IP address is changed. But this does not mean that you are not still banned on eBay, on a forum or on site you got banned before.

Why is that? The answer is very simple: you are still in the same subnet.
Meaning that your new IP address is not very different from the one
that you got banned with. For example, you got banned with
123.123.123.1 and your new IP address is 123.123.123.2. Forums or sites
like eBay don’t ban only the exact IP, but the entire subnet.

What should you do?

Firstly, you could change your ISP (Internet
Service Provider), create a new account and make sure you set up all
new account information and do not link any old account information.

Secondly, you can try changing your IP address. Read my blog to know more about hiding your ip address.

If you need a US IP address you can use certain softwares. Also, I recommend a product that I have recently discovered (IP Privacy - Download link) and that offers high quality US proxies. It seems to be designed especially for these cases. I will later write a post on this product.

1. Yes, we are using Gpass and we are somehow satisfied with the results. See the pros and cons that we have identified / considered about using Gpass. Overall is one of the best free solutions available on the Internet.

2. We have been evaluation several paid solutions and you can find our comments on this blog. Lately we have found out Hide-IP-Browser
which is a great application (unfortunately is just version 1.0 – which
means that is not that stable as other applications) that can hide your
IP easily. We will post a review about this application soon on the
blog.

The pros for Hide-Ip-Browser are:
you can select the country for the proxy, you can even select the
location (which is a great feature), the proxy speed is very good.

The cons are: it is a browser itself so you cannot
use it with other browsers, it is version 1.0 which means that some
small problems (I guess they are bugs) still appear. Overall we think
that this is the most promicing application that we have tested.

And yes – we have tested the latest
version of Anonymizer and we can confirm that is not working well at
all. We will write a post about this topic on the blog as well.

3. Regarding the VPN tunneling – we are using this
technology as well and in fact we will post a few reviews on the blog.
The main cons in this case is the fact that is an expensive technology

There are different web sites that offer access to list of proxies.

You will see that in the list there are different categories of proxies:

transparent
anonymous
high anonymous or elite proxies

The best proxies for hiding the ip address are the high anonymous proxies or elite proxies.
This is because they offer the best anonymity on web. We will show you
in the next paragraph how the high anonymous proxies or the elite
proxies actually hide your ip address.

When we are visiting a web site – without using any proxy server –
the web servers that are hosting the web site that we access can
retrieve (collect) the following information about us: our real ip address, if we are using a proxy server or not and the ip address of the proxy
in use, the browser that we are using and the language that is
currently used. If your IP address is revealed than other details about
you can be revealed.

So in order to hide the ip address we should use proxies that do not reveal the fact that a proxy is used and in this way your ip address is protected. The only proxies that are able to do that are the high anonymous proxies or elite proxies.

The transparent proxies are not to be used because
they show that a proxy server is used and they told the web servers
that you are using a proxy and your ip address. So transparent proxies
are not to be used for hiding the IP address. They can be used for
other purposes that we will discuss later on the blog.

The anonymous proxies can be used for hiding the IP
address BUT some of the web servers might be able to detect the fact
that a proxy is in use and in this way your IP address can be detected.
So using anonymous proxies can be used for hiding the IP address but
their accuracy is not 100%.
